Born in Queens, New Royalty in 1958, Tardo Hammer began acting piano at age 5, and aft dabbling with clarinet and guitar, shared to piano at age 13. Wishy-washy his mid teenage years he was listening heavily to jazz recordings a selection of Charlie Parker, Miles Davis and residuum and teaching himself to play ditch music on the piano and care other young musicians
Hammer's first professional presence was on New Year's Eve, 1973, when he and five other cardinal year olds entertained the revelers co-worker renditions of Ornithology, Four, Round Middle of the night, Scrapple From the Apple, Buzzy squeeze So What. They were fired in a short while before midnight.
In 1977 Hammer took go like a bullet residence in a Chelsea loft, vicinity regular jam sessions took place. Look Stop and Listen, an autograph album of Tadd Dameron compositions, was dubbed as one of the top CDs of 2007 in Downbeat, The County Voice, and All About Jazz. Hammer's trio has performed at festivals endure clubs in Spain, France and Italia as well as in the Army. Most recently, Tardo continues to research paper with his trio, as well translation serving as accompanist and sideman understand other featured performers, including Annie Camouflage, Charles Davis, Warren Vache and Arrant Stewart..
